AB Procedures for Emails

Is there a way that we can work together as ABs to standardize the way we mark emails resolved or unresolved? If a few of us could find time to meet and work this out I feel that the "Left Messages" that are reactivated will decrease and no longer be such a nuisance.

Network Issues

Ok everyone, clients are having issues connecting to many UF sites (some include webmail and webct) and CNS is aware of the problem and are currently working on a solution. Here's what to do:
1. Let the client know that we are aware of the problem.
2. Have them wait for a couple of hours and try back periodically.
3. Then let them know that you are going to close their ticket and they'll receive a notification that their ticket is closed but that we are currently awaiting for the problem to be fixed.

If clients are still having this problem after a long period of time (like more than 3-4 hours) then have them call us back and we'll keep talking to CNS. That's all for now.

More on DHNet

The DHNet registration issue continues. We still need to refer the tickets to DHNet and have the client call DHNet so they can manually reregister them. To help DHNet out we should let our clients know how to access their MAC address to speed up the manual registration process.

To do this on a Windows computer, go to Start->Run->type "cmd"->type "ipconfig/all" and the MAC address will be under "Physical Address" in the "Ethernet Adapter" section.

To do this on a Mac, go to the Apple icon at the top left corner of the screen, click on System Preferences...->Network->Built-in Ethernet->Ethernet tab and it's called the "Ethernet ID."

Robbie

We need to get a hold of Robbie to get him to cover the TB shift for tonight. If anyone sees him online or in person please ask him if he can cover the shift.

DHNet Issue Continued

For clients that are having the DHNet issues that we've seen this morning please advise them that DHNet is aware of the problem and to call DHNet and leave a message with their information and have them try accessing the internet periodically (every few hours) until DHNet takes care of the problem.

DHNet Issue

If you get a client that is having a DHNet problem where they need to register but have already registered this semester (which you can check on the Disabled Ports page) then please have them call DHNet directly at 392-2161 option 9. They can fix the problem for them.
