AD Mail down for A-L

If you get any problems about people who can't sign into AD webmail it's because the server housing the mailboxes for people with last names starting with A-L is down. Please let any clients know that IFAS is aware of the problem and is currently trying to fix it, maybe suggest that they try again in an hour or so.

Vista Down

Vista went down around 12:30pm. Not sure when it's going to be up again, but I thought the blog should know. Apparently multiple people were taking tests and the TAs need proof that Vista went down - they may call us later today.

LEI2000 Test

There is a test schedule today for LEI2000 section 5434. The Instructor has it set to be released today from 8:00am to 11:00pm, but forgot to unhide the link. Students will not be able to see the link for the test. The Instructor is in Bangkok, Thailand this week. We have sent an email to him letting him know that the link is hidden. He says that he has access to email so hopefully he will get the email. There are 321 students in this course. Tell the students that we have notified the Instructor. Thanks, Bill

Cox Internet Problems in Campus Lodge

Apparently, we've had a couple of students from Campus Lodge call us. They have needed help resetting their "ARP Cache." While this is a Cox issue, Cox refuses to help them because the owner of the account is "Campus Lodge" and not the individual apartments. Raymond figured out a fix for their problem. The users need to go into command prompt and type "C:\netsh interface ip delete arpcache" and then hit enter. After doing this, they need to restart their computer. Everything should work fine now.

DHNet - Aim Virus update

DHNet helpdesk just called us to let us know that the ircbot virus is now causing people to get network cable unplugged error messages. We should try to get them aimfix and see if it finds anything. If it does, we probably need to reformat thier computer, since this can be extremely difficult to remove.

They have also seen people who cannot connect because of the aim virus but are not restricted, so don't rule it out if they aren't on the list.

Dhnet down

Dhnet seems to have gone down. Many students have called and have been only able to access UF webpages. I called Dhnet and left a message.

Isis 9/6 @ 4:45PM

The menu on the left side of Isis is down right now, basically all links requiring a login. I called the registrar and they were not aware of the issue, but will look into it.
